For now, the year is 2008. Voldemort has been gone for 10 years and everyone is in a state of peace. Soon disappearances start to occur but no one wants to admit that anything strange is going on. For now the Ministry has been able to keep the public unaware of what is going on, but how long can they keep things a secret when the Ministry itself is beginning to crumble?
It's currently September 2008, the start of term.
